Short Description
Film-forming aids are often called “solvents” in solventless paints such as water-based paints and are considered “temporary plasticizers”. They have the ability to plasticize emulsions to help form films, evaporate when the film dries and do not affect the physical and mechanical properties of the paint film.
Characteristic
Colorless liquid, light odor
Application
– Good MFFT reduction. Good film forming ability.
– Evaporates quickly through the membrane, easily absorbs water
– Good compatibility
– Stable upon hydrolysis
– Less odor
– No negative impact on film
